DOCTOR AKEREDOLU O.N'S SELFLESSNESS: A SYMBOL OF PATRIOTISMBy Oripenaye Blessing(LLB)31/08/2024

Image
In a remarkable display of selflessness and patriotism, Dr. Akeredolu O.N, a respected medical doctor, has set a shining example for others to follow. Recently appointed as a board member of the Ondo State Health Management Board by the Governor Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, Dr. Akeredolu has graciously offered to serve pro bono, declining any salary for his services. This singular act of generosity and dedication to the public good is a beacon of hope and inspiration. In a world where self-interest often takes center stage, Dr. Akeredolu's selflessness shines brightly, reminding us that true patriotism is about giving back to the society that has given us so much. Dr. Akeredolu's decision to forgo a salary is not just a personal sacrifice; it is a testament to his character and commitment to the well-being of others. By putting the needs of the state and its people above his own, he demonstrates the very essence of leadership and public service. We must commend G...

THE NEW DAWN OF MECHANISED FARMING IN ONDO STATE, MY RESERVATIONS.... Dr Akeredolu O.N.

With huge billions of naira that recently entered the state from the federation account as evidently disclosed by the federal government, this laudable program should be free for all at no cost; Ondo state should move from being lucky to Ondo is working. Also, attention should be paid to the moribundity of our health sector, probably the worst in the southwest. I recently stumbled on the latest and welcome development in Ondo state in which our ministry of agriculture is alive to its responsibility of making tractors available in the state. No doubt, this is a heartwarming initiative, however, it would be better if the state government, under the current governor, makes known, the number of tractors, just purchased by his administration like other states e.g Niger and Yobe states, where these modern farming equipments were purchased, displayed and distributed in their hundreds. In the same vein, I'm disturbed with the idea of individuals paying for the service, which ma...

HOW TINUBU FAILED NADECO....... Dr Akeredolu O.N.

Anyone still expecting anything reasonable from the current administration of Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu GCFR may wait for eternity. It's obvious that the Asiwaju of Lagos State doesn't have solutions to the myriad of Nigeria's problems and has failed pro-democratic elements who fought General Abacha. General Muritala Muhammed (RTD) could create many states, reposition the civil service, and established many universities in just six months of his reign, being in charge of Nigeria for over a year, Jagaban of Borgu has no excuse for the current suffering in our nation. In the same vein, General Abdulsalami Abubakar (RTD) returned Nigeria to democracy in 9 months, which General Ibrahim Babangida (RTD) and General Sani Abacha (RTD) failed to do in their 8 years and 5 years, respectively. When our Messiah finally arrives in this country, it won't take an eternity to bring Nigeria back to the track of progress. The emergence of Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu GCFR as the President...

The aim is to reduce the level of unemployment among the youths in Ondo State, mostly in our oil-producing areas. Why H.E. Lucky Aiyedatiwa should never see Aketi as an enemy but a boss he had a disagreement with. Without Aketi, Aiyedatiwa wouldn't have been the governor. Also, Mr. Governor should not discard the idea of the LCDAs. Instead, he should listen, make amendments where necessary, and consider immortalizing Arakunrin by naming the state specialist hospital in Akure after him. The current democratic dispensation has spanned over two decades, the first of its kind and longest in our national and political history. Recently, at a symposium organized in Abuja featuring the great orator and human rights activist, Prof. Mike Ozhekome, a freedom fighter who spent his early productive years in prison for defending democracy, Sen. Shehu Sani, and the lion-hearted politician, H.E. Nyesom Wike, currently at the centre of the Rivers State political crisis. Although I was not fortunate to watch the entire program, the response from the FCT Minister, who criticized the two activists fo...
